Bedlington Christian Fellowship - The Matthew Project

The Project is a Food Project not an actual Food Bank – Individuals ,Families, Homeless folk, are referred to us for a food parcel by Social Services, Citizens Advice,Barnardos, Sure Start, Probation Service,Health Visitors,Alcohol Abuse Agency, Local Refuge,.No Self Referral. Max of 3 parcels allowed over a period.Each parcel is made up for the size of the family etc and each parcel is normally collected by the social worker . Last yr in 12 months we provided four hundred and ninety five parcels - feeding approx 1500 people- this yr to Mid May we have done 340 parcels . We have a dedicated team of 10 persons who work in the project –all members of our church and all voluntary.Food is bought by us, supplied by local churches / individuals/Supermarket collection and an occasional Supermarket coll
