Becoming a member of the Northumberland Advice Network is free and will allow you access to free training, a searchable directory of services, networking opportunities, closer working relationships and a whole host of valuable information.

What are the benefits of joining?

With a growing demand for advice about benefit issues, there is a need for VCS organisations to work together to provide services which ensure residents get the help they need, when they need it. The Northumberland Advice Network is not just for organisations that provide advice on benefits issues; it is for all VCS organisations that provide advice, information and/or support to their particular client group, for example organisations that provide practical support to clients with a specific medical condition or disability. It is important that advice organisations know about support groups so that clients can be referred or signposted for further assistance. Equally, these support organisations need to be able to refer or signpost clients to advice organisations where appropriate, to supplement the practical support they provide. You may already receive our newsletters and bulletins, but you are possibly missing out on FREE training, networking and a whole host of information and benefits from being a member of the Northumberland Advice Network.

There are three categories of membership that your organisation may fall into.  They are:

Benefit Advice Provider – this is for voluntary and community sector organisations that deliver benefit advice services in Northumberland

Advice, Information & Support Provider – this is for other voluntary and community sector organisations and groups that provide support, information, or advice to residents of Northumberland

Supporter – this is for all sectors who don’t fit into either of the above categories

Once you’ve completed your membership form, this will help us to identify and maximise how you and your organisation can get involved and we will contact you/the lead person within your organisation to discuss this further.  You will find a brief description of each category on the Member Information Document here.
